Soltee Crown Plaza celebrated the first six months of 2009

Sales and Marketing of Soltee Crown Plaza celebrated its success of the first six months of 2009. The team along with the General Manager of the the hotel, Greesh Bindra and other departmental heads went to "The Fort" at Nagarkot on July 5 for celebration.
Bindra awarded the hotel performances bonus for 2008 and certification of Crowne Meeting Director E Cornell to Balaram Pathak during the function.
Similarly, the Best Regional Sales Person of the Surojit Ghose, Enterprising Sales Person of the year Balaram Pathak, and Ms. Sumati Shakya, Best Sales Person of the year were awarded with the tour packages within Nepal and India.

Food Preparation Contest at RMTC

Trainee Chef's Food Preparation Contest was organized on 17th by Raman Manpower Training Center (RMTC) within its premises. The team lead by Mr. Thapa and Mr. Akbar Shrestha won the first prize for their delicious and perfect 'Chicken Ala Kiev'.
Renowned Chef Govinda Narsingh K.C from LSG Sky Chef Nepal handed over the prize to the winner and a letter of appreciation to all the participants.
The total of eight contestants divided into four groups prepared 'Chef Belentino' and 'Chicken Princase' during the competition. Foods were judged as per the composition taste, preparation method, hygiene and contestants' over all performance.
The contest was judged by prominent hospitality professinal Mr. Suresh KC,CEO of H/M's Food & Wine Magazine, Chef Govinda Narsingh KC and Chef Himal Shrestha from RMTC.

Irish Pub Launched In Kathmandu

The Irish Pub has formally started catering to Kathmandu. Situated at Ananda Bhawan, Lazimpat, the pub is already to delight locals and foreigners with the recipes both from Ireland and Nepal. Lothar Rueck, Managing Director and owner, originally from Germany has given its typical identity wooden interiors and Television airing sports channels to the pub. The pub serves Irish Whisky and Beer, Irish Coffee, cuisines like Fish and Chips, Traditional Gaelic Steak, Shepherd's Pie among various imported and local Liquors and snack. According to Rueck, the pubs of this kind are loved by pub goers all around the world however it can be a new concept for Kathmandu. The newly established pub is expected to be the center of attraction for anyone who is looking for Irish cuisines and drinks. Rueck, mentioned his intentions to serve Kathmandu with the best Irish Whisky and Beer.

Types of plans offered by hotels

A plan is the package of room rates and meals offered by a hotel to the guest for their convenience. Following are the different types of plan commonly offered to the customers by different hotels.
  • European plan (EP): European plan offers the facility of rooms only. The extra facilities, that the guest incurs during his/her stay will be on additional payment.
  • American plan (AP): It is also called as en-pension or full board. American plan includes the facilities of room,breakfast,lunch and dinner.
  • Modified American Plan(MAP): It is also known as half board or demi-pension. This plan includes the facilities of rooms, breakfast and either lunch or dinner.
  • Bed and Breakfast(B and B): Bed and breakfast plan offers the facility of room and the breakfast only. If the plan consists of continental breakfast, the plan is known as continental plan or CP.
